About the Location
Our Bagdad operations in Arizona offer housing at a subsidized rate, a family-friendly atmosphere, and numerous amenities including an aquatic center, golf course, and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world's first commercial-scale concentrate leach processing facility and one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
- Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for the assigned work unit.
- Implement production plans according to approved schedules.
- Participate in daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks as needed.
- Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action.
- Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
- Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities.
- Maintain an inventory of parts and materials.
- Approve purchases of materials and equipment; maintain time, materials, and equipment use reports.
- Requisition tools, supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets for crews.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, and five years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one summer internship (or equivalent) working in mining or an industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience.
- Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
- Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.
- Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring, and administration.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mining experience.
- Support equipment operation experience.
Pay
The estimated annual pay range for this role is $87,500 - $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
