About the Role

This position supervises a team of warehouse material handlers, ensuring materials are stored properly, provided to production without shortages, and communicated effectively when issues arise. The supervisor maintains an organized warehouse to improve productivity, oversees equipment maintenance (forklifts, scales, pallet jacks, etc.), and conducts audits of work orders to address discrepancies. The role includes weekly safety meetings, proper documentation of material issuance, and coordination with the inventory control office for ERP system processing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a group of warehouse material handlers, conducting daily check-ins and completing HR-requested reports.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and submit documentation to HR.
  • Train and reinforce warehouse procedures, cross-training employees in different areas.
  • Audit employee work and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain equipment (forklifts, scales, pallet jacks, scanners, etc.) in good working condition.
  • Ensure procedures are followed and paperwork is submitted to the inventory control office on time.
  • Achieve goals within the approved budget.
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and files.
  • Provide reports and information to top management as requested.
  • Use the ERP system to verify documentation against system data.
  • Follow up on cycle count results and coordinate with the Inventory Control Supervisor to resolve discrepancies.
  • Use resources productively and perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Forklift driving license (required).
  • Ability to travel to other company facilities for related activities.
  • CPR certification (desired).
  • Knowledge of fire extinguisher use.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience managing a team of 10 or more people.
  • Manufacturing background.
  • ERP or MRP system knowledge.
  • Analytical ability to solve problems.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including unit conversions (e.g., kilos to pounds, liters to gallons, square footage calculations).
  • Bilingual (preferred).
  • Proficiency with counting scales, scanners, calculators, measuring tape, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Team-oriented and flexible schedule.

Qualifications

4 to 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within a manufacturing environment. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Physical Demands

  • Continual walking, standing, reaching, pushing, and lifting.
  • Use of hands for grasping both firm and light objects.
  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying of 11-30 lbs.
  • Occasional floor-to-chest lifting.
  • Occasional work in uncomfortable positions (under, over, or in tight spaces).

Environmental Factors

  • Work inside and outside in non-climate-controlled conditions.
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperatures based on outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noises.
