Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Maintenance employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Promptly address performance issues.
  • Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
  • Execute planned and scheduled maintenance operations within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and responding to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
  • Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • A two-year college degree is preferred.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment is required.
  • A practical understanding of industrial/maintenance principles, standards, methods and practices is necessary.
  • A knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods and positive employee relations practices is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability is required, setting high expectations for performance.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills, including a motivation to discover "Win-Win" outcomes whenever possible, are needed.
  • Good business judgment and decision-making skills are important.
  • Direct, candid, and mature interpersonal skills are required.
  • Trustworthiness and the ability to influence others are necessary.
  • A willingness to offer a dissenting opinion before final decisions are reached is expected.
  • Ability to successfully coordinate internal and external resources, and to organize and prioritize tasks is crucial.
  • A disciplined results orientation is important.
  • Good business writing skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility in terms of shift assignments and/or rotations is required.
  • The ability to work extensive hours in support of continuous operations is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions, are required.
  • A willingness to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment is expected.
