About the role

INEOS Oxide is a diverse, dynamic, and successful business within INEOS, operating 5 manufacturing sites in Europe and North America. We produce over 200 products across five key value chains and are a European market leader in many of them. As part of an ambitious growth agenda, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will direct all asset maintenance activities—preventative, predictive, and reactive/corrective—to meet production targets and reliability strategies.

The role involves daily collaboration with operations, maintenance craft workers, reliability and process specialists, and external factors such as regulatory requirements, labor availability, and vendor material transit times.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to INEOS 20 Safety Principles, Life Saving Rules, and site policies/standards.
  • Comply with environmental requirements, including reporting and LDAR repair timing.
  • Manage asset compliance with process safety and personnel safety inspections (e.g., precision instrument calibrations, turbine overspeed, relief valve testing).
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership through field observations, audits, and near-miss reporting.
  • Adhere to the SHE incident management system, including incident investigations, lessons learned, corrective actions, and training.
  • Plan work with clear understanding of hazards and initiate safety reviews (e.g., temporary job plans, confined space, hot work).
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures and training materials.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Environmental efforts, including PHAs, Management of Change, Risk Assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Conduct routine AsCare tours and participate in audits.
  • Align roles, set performance expectations, and provide coaching and formal reviews for Maintenance Technicians and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety training and HR policies for employees and contractors.
  • Serve as the primary contact for execution forces and vendors, ensuring clear communication of work scope and priorities.
  • Optimize maintenance workflow and communicate schedule changes to impacted groups.
  • Coordinate with SHE, Procurement, and Operations to align work with business needs and environmental requirements.
  • Control costs by justifying repairs, expediting materials, and driving efficiency improvements.
  • Enter and approve time entries in SAP and resolve blocked invoices for out-of-funds Purchase Orders.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure proper installation and parameter settings for equipment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of maintenance or operations experience in a petrochemical manufacturing facility.
  • Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership competencies; prior supervisory experience required if less than 5 years in plant operations.
  • High School diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident).

Skills

  • Technical: Experience supporting asset operations, maintenance of fixed/rotating equipment, and workflow processes. Knowledge of site operating standards, HSE legislation, SAP Plant Maintenance, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Behavioral: Ability to drive change, maintain asset reliability within budget, and work effectively across diverse teams. Strong interpersonal and self-initiated learning skills.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force (light to moderate physical work).
  • Exposure to inside, outside, and extreme environmental conditions (temperature extremes, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, and chemicals).
  • Required use of respirators and gas masks.
  • Ability to see written documents/computer screens and adjust focus; normal hearing for oral communication.

Performance Indicators

  • Achieve SHE metric targets for safety and environmental incidents.
  • Meet or exceed plant production goals and asset reliability.
  • Achieve schedule compliance and AsCare/20P/MOC/PSM compliance.
  • Meet efficiency targets and annual performance metrics.
