Pay

Hourly range: $51.01 – $62.49 – $73.96 (minimum – midpoint – maximum). The stated pay scale reflects the range Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay rate will depend on experience, skills, education, and other factors.

What You Will Do

Supervises and coordinates the clinical operation of the laboratory during the assigned shift to ensure the provision of quality patient care. This position is accountable for staffing coordination and resource utilization of the assigned shift(s) to ensure the delivery of laboratory services to meet organizational strategic goals.

Required Qualifications

• Meets education requirements for CLS license.
• 6 years recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist license – CA Department of Public Health (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a leadership position.

Essential Functions

• Maintain a safe, clean working environment, including unit‑based safety and infection control requirements.
• Supervise laboratory staff on the assigned shift.
• Coordinate staff and resources to meet lab turnaround time and other performance goals.
• Ensure organized shift transition.
• Help identify barriers to the achievement of service goals.
• Identify issues and recurrent problems that hinder staff’s ability to improve clinical outcomes or work efficiently.
• Collaborate with laboratory management to provide solutions and resources for resolution.
• Assist lab management to ensure high level of professional practice and maintain lab services according to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assist lab management in quality and safety requirements and initiatives of the clinical laboratory.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
