Supervisor, Laboratory
About the role
Meadowview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor 2nd and 3rd shift to join our team. This position is responsible for supervising daily staff activities, providing direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff, performing or assisting with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, assessing and ensuring quality of services delivered, facilitating staff development programs, ensuring staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, and leading the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Responsibilities
- Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
- Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
- Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Affirms and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
- Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
- Led the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- MUST qualify as a CLIA Technical Supervisor (Must have 48 college credit hours in chemistry or biology to qualify).
- ASCP or AMT License preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
- Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
- Moderate Communication -- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills.
- Ability to train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations.
Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

Pay
Salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
2nd and 3rd shift positions available.
