About the role

Vitalant seeks a Laboratory Services Supervisor to contribute to their life-saving mission. The role involves overseeing and coordinating daily technical operations, providing skilled technical support, and performing blood component processing and routine testing of biological samples.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and assess the performance of the intake of blood products, product testing, and product labeling.
• Oversee department equipment maintenance program, including preventative maintenance records and vendor scheduling.
• Manage the Product Quality Control program, including completion of product QC records, assessments, reporting, failure investigations, and corrective actions.
• Investigate deviations in testing, quality control, and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct required competency observations and complete documentation.
• Provide effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results to meet company goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, medical technology, or medical laboratory science required.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency required or CLIA equivalent for moderate or high complexity testing required.
• Certification as a Technologist in blood banking (BB) or Specialist in blood banking (SBB) preferred.
• One year of laboratory experience required.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Pay

Salary Grade 120.2BS Salary Range: 79,851.24 - 105,404.00
