HF Sinclair is seeking a Supervisor, IT Site Operations in El Dorado, Kansas.
About the role
Supervise the daily activities of a team of IT professionals who provide technical support to the Company's information systems to ensure the systems and hardware resources function effectively and reliably. Represent the IT department at each refinery, maintaining the relationship between refinery management and IT management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a small group of IT personnel, prioritizing and assigning tasks for effective use of team resources; respond to moderate to complex issues and escalated inquiries from team members; check the quality of others' work.
- Oversee team activities including installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining large systems or several smaller systems.
- Partner with site-specific leadership to ensure aligned IT/Operations strategic business plans.
- Develop site-specific roadmaps and IT strategies as input to the Manager, IT Site Operations strategy and roadmaps.
- Adhere to and implement enterprise-wide standards.
- Supervise all local projects with an IT component in accordance with project plans and budgets, including implementation or upgrade of software systems and IT infrastructure.
- Coordinate daily IT-related site needs, liaise between local IT and plant management, and communicate project statuses to the Senior Manager, IT Site Operations.
- Manage local inventory of assets and provide input on IT budget for local needs.
- Support various departmental and site-specific applications, including application-level support.
- Monitor applications daily for optimization and detection of issues.
- Review and prioritize IT requests from various departments at the assigned location and resolve or delegate as appropriate.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate documentation and provide training for supported systems (e.g., tank gauging, lab systems).
- Perform annual performance appraisals and goal achievement for local IT staff.
- Protect computer and telephone systems from unauthorized access by reviewing access and building security into the systems.
- Handle special assignments or tasks as determined by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of job-related experience.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or a combination of education and job-related experience.
- Project management skills are essential.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations and intermediate to advanced reading skills.
- Administration, implementation, and support experience in various applications.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Project Management.
Supervisory Responsibility
Responsible for the direct supervision of up to six (6) IT professionals, depending on location.
Work Conditions
- Office-based with travel 10-20% of the time depending on assignment.
- Occasionally required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance, emergency work, and support, as well as on-call availability.
- At times, required to work in warehouse/plant environment and refinery/industrial environment, including working near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, loud noise or vibrations, and varying road conditions.
- May be required to work outdoors and subject to all weather conditions.
- At times may be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
