About the role

The Supervisor II position is a working supervisor role within our Recycling MRF (Materials Recovery Facility). This position is responsible for leading daily operations, supervising employees, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining operational efficiency. Candidates must be flexible and available to work either shift, including:

  • 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
  • Rotating Saturdays as required by business needs
The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams in a fast-paced industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or operations environment, with a strong focus on safety, employee engagement, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Supervises daily operations in order to improve production, maintain costs, and ensure safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manages daily (plant) operations and maintains inventory for safety and operation supplies
  • Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures
  • Manages (plant) logistics and materials; supervises daily production; enters finished goods into inventory; orders supplies as needed
  • Supervises production staff and coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals
  • Oversees operations personnel needs including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance
  • Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions
  • Investigates, reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Creates and submits weekly and month end reports to senior management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and Four (4) to six (6) years previous experience. Preferred Qualifications include Mobile Equipment Operator and CPR First Aid certification.

Physical Requirements

This job operates in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment. The role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. The successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing—including pre‑employment screening, post‑incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing—in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
