Supervisor Housekeeping
About the role
The role involves supervising the daily activities of environmental services associates in assigned areas, acting as a liaison between associates and management to ensure service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Schedules staff shifts, may perform housekeeping duties in instances of staff shortage
- Assigns and coordinates the department workflow and inspects work to ensure standards are met
- Investigates and addresses complaints regarding poor housekeeping service
- Provides training to the housekeeping staff and maintains staffing levels within budget
- Takes inventory of cleaning supplies and orders stock as needed
- Suggests ways to increase productivity through the use of labor-saving equipment or supplies
- Aids in personnel matters within the department
Requirements
- Three (3) years of housekeeping experience with one (1) year of supervisory duties
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards
Skills
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests
- Understands assigned areas, necessary supplies, and equipment
- Reads and follows written work assignments
