Supervisor Hatchery - 1st Shift - Hays Hatchery, NC

Responsibilities

Supervise the operations of a specific hatchery, monitoring daily activities and developing strategies for improvement.

• Documentation: Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts. Keep logs on truck miles and hours worked by drivers.
• Logistics: Ensure the movement of chicks to farms according to the shipment schedule.
• Equipment Monitoring: Oversee incubation, hatchery, and environmental control equipment.
• Supervision: Supervise personnel on a daily basis.
• Egg Grading: Grade fleets of eggs from hen farms.
• Vaccination: Prepare vaccines for chickens.
• Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed and any other duties assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Education: Post-high school education including special training, vocational school, or college courses.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in a hatchery setting or live production area.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Travel: 1-2 trips per year.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise personnel in a single department or work unit.
• Biosecurity: Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl; required to sign a Bio‑security agreement.
• Animal Welfare Policy: Must follow the Company Animal Welfare Policy at all times.
