Responsibilities
- Ensures workers operate in a safe manner and environment as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participates in planned and unplanned audits of the plant floor and team performance.
- Maintains due diligence and a safety-first approach for the organization.
- Communicates daily productivity and initiates continual improvement with production employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to assign duties to workers.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, improve methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Assists in training the workforce in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Coordinates activities with other supervisors to drive success.
- Ensures hourly payroll is completed weekly—ADP hours approved and timesheets submitted.
- Reads and interprets documents, communicates verbally with team members, and writes routine reports.
- Demonstrates excellent listening skills, flexibility, and negotiation abilities; bilingualism is a plus.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is familiar with KPI management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of Casthouse/Foundry experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), internet use, and general computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to groups, management, or employees.
- Qualified in identifying diverse alloys and hardening elements.
- Ability to solve technical practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Understanding or exposure to lean manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to supervise a team of 25 or more employees.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $98,000. Final pay will be determined based on geographic location, skills, education, and experience, with consideration for internal equity.
