Responsibilities
- Maintains and improves a safe, cost effective cleaning and transportation department.
- Manages the Transport and Environmental Services Departments.
- Provides technical support and training to EVS and Transport zone leaders, EVS and Transport employees.
- Supervises and coordinates transport, cleaning, trash removal & preventative maintenance procedures for all patient care areas and utility support systems.
- Assigns work to personnel and monitors for accuracy and ensures completion of tasks by inspection work and processes.
- Performs administrative tasks pertaining to daily and overall operations.
- Orients, trains, schedules, counsels & evaluates employees.
- Responds to patient and customer requests and complaints pertaining to Transport and EVS.
- Develops professional skills, attends continuing education sessions and attains personal qualifications to ensure technical competency & team work required to provide quality service.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum formal education of High School Diploma.
- Minimum of three years job-related experience.
- Supervisor experience, including financial, estimating, computer and scheduling skills.
- Three plus years supervisory experience in housekeeping at a Hospital or Hotel with a successful customer service and leadership track record.
- Familiar with JCAHO, State, Local, DEP and OSHA regulations.
