Supervisor Environmental Services

About the role

The Environmental Services Supervisor at Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley provides day-to-day supervision for the EVS department under guidance of Director and/or Manager. They ensure a consistently high level of environmental hygiene and aesthetics to patients, visitors, and staff. This position also oversees regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations, and collaborates with other management team members to support the department.

Responsibilities

• Trains and develops a highly equipped and engaged Environmental Services Team using evidence-based techniques, process, and mission metrics (KPIs).
• Provides supervision of staff, making sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
• Demonstrates supervision in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value.
• Safeguards the department’s operations by ensuring compliance with cleaning and disinfection principles, proper chemical and equipment usage, and labor requirements.
• Oversees inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.
• Prepares work and time schedules, under the direction of the Manager/Director, coordinating vacation and holiday time and reviewing daily adjustments in the work schedule.
• Promotes and supervises a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.
• Supervises the work of subcontractors and/or EVS suppliers for the department as needed.
• Adheres to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control and prevention standards.
• Controls expenditures within sphere of approved budget objectives and takes corrective action when variances affect budget.
• Develops/maintains a culture where people want to come to work.
• Nurture a culture of healthy well-being with EVS Team.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 Years in Environmental Services experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems preferred.
• Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery.
• Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control.
• Demonstrates strong working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, DOT, CDC Policy and Standard Work development/implementation.
• Bi-lingual candidates (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.

Pay

The posted compensation range of $19.96 - $31.01 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 12:30am, subject to change with departmental needs

Skills

• Working knowledge of cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements.
• Working knowledge of proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishings, interior finishes.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems.
