About the role

This position will be responsible for performing engineering oversight for all technical tasks that optimize processing capabilities of the facility through robust process development and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned team, including professional development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day engineering support for production operations, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient workflow.
  • Responsible for implementing all engineering changes from the customer in a timely manner.
  • Track the progress of each engineering discipline ensuring maximum effectiveness.
  • Approve manufacturing processes, operation models and operation sheets generated by the product manufacturing engineer.
  • Manage product and process engineering related activities and coordinate with Operations during the NPI development stage from raw material to finished product.
  • Create material process requisitions with technical data requirements for sub-tier, special manufacturing processes.
  • Interface with procurement to assist with sub-tier technical issues that may delay deliveries to HAU or stall overall development.
  • Manage durable tooling for HAU businesses including design, build, and sustainment.
  • Define and participate in Root Cause Analysis and implementation of Corrective Actions and follow through to ensure corrective actions have been properly implemented.
  • Initiate and lead optimization projects to improve quality outcomes, reduce production costs, and shorten cycle time.
  • Build trust and confidence with customers to resolve engineering, manufacturing, and quality issues.
  • Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.

Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to leadership or coaching competencies.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
  • Knowledge/experience in the machining of nickel, titanium based and stainless steel alloys preferred.
  • Able to work with CAD systems such as Solidworks, NX 11 and above, Microsoft Office to generate/check work instructions and process sheets.
  • Able to work in a high-tempo manufacturing environment, with ability to still hit desired deadlines.
  • Excellent skills in blueprint reading and specification interpretation.
  • Able to travel 5-10% when required.
