Supervisor Energy Control Center
About the role
The Supervisor of Energy Control Center (ECC) at APS is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ECC Operator staff, collaborating with various departments to ensure system reliability and stability, and providing training and assessments for Transmission Operators and Balancing Authority personnel.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Energy Control Center (ECC) Operator staff.
- Collaborate across departments: Operations, Engineering, Planning, Training, and Compliance to support system reliability and stability.
- Provide training and assessments for Transmission Operators and Balancing Authority personnel.
- Support the team with communication flow and step in as needed.
- Resolve operational and technical issues within the unit.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure responsible use of resources.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years demonstrated experience with transmission operations, balancing authority operations, maintenance, or other relevant experience.
- Engineering or equivalent Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline highly preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience in field operations and/or maintenance).
- Current NERC certification, Reliability Coordinator preferred.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT), Open Access Same Time Information System (OASIS), NERC Reliability Standards, WECC Regional Reliability Standards, NAESB Business Protocols and the FERC Standards of Conduct.
- Ability to implement strategic direction related to all aspects of balancing authority and transmission operations.
- Excellent transmission operations knowledge, effective supervisory skills, project leadership and communication skills.
