Responsibilities
- Embraces and leads with safe behaviors in all aspects of work performance.

- Facilitates or leads weekly team meetings/safety tailboards.
- Conducts training as needed.
- Regularly visits work sites (at least 50% of time) to monitor progress and employee performance.
- Safely and timely completes maintenance and construction work, meeting quality expectations.
- Maintains and updates all work documentation or reporting.
- Identifies and reacts to complex field decisions, utilizing technical knowledge and experience to move forward quickly, considering cost, risk, safety, quality, and customer impact.
- Effectively utilizes resources by monitoring crew productivity.
- Builds constructive peer relationships and treats direct reports equitably.
- Provides positive and constructive feedback to others.
- Responds to emergencies and outages.
- May serve as a field leader (e.g., District Storm Room Lead, Task Force Lead) in OEC/EOC major emergency activations.
- Supervises staff, including bargaining unit employees, to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
- Travels at least 10% - 50% of time with occasional overnight stays.
- Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule, including being on call as well as responding to emergencies that may occur throughout our service territory.
- Works outside in remote areas, steep and/or uneven terrain, and inclement weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High-School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, Field Maintenance Operations, or related Electric Utility experience.
- Must obtain a California Driver’s License by first day of employment.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field (Desired)
- Previous experience in the Electric Utility industry (Desired)
- Journeyman lineman experience preferred (Desired)
- Previous experience in PM/FE (Desired)
- Knowledge of the California Public Utility Commission General Orders (GO) 95, 128, 165 (Desired)
- General computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook (Desired)
- Customer services orientation, including communication skills, initiative and problem solving (Desired)
- Knowledge of various bargaining unit contracts (Desired)
- Demonstrated ability to uphold safety standards and participate in continuous process improvement (Desired)
- Experienced leading cross-functional teams and/or supervising bargaining unit personnel (Desired)
- Experience using business metrics to motivate and influence performance (Desired)
- Extensive leadership skills including developing and conducting presentations to employees and management (Desired)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (Desired)
