About the Role
Provide oversight and administrative support for divisional educational programs, including medical and graduate student education, internships, residency training, and postdoctoral fellowship programs, while helping maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise clerical and administrative support staff; interviews, hires, mentors, & counsel employees.
- Oversee training and orientation of staff; determine work priorities; evaluate work progress.
- Prepare annual staff performance appraisals.
- Develop and oversee budgets related to education office, including approving expenditures and preparing summaries of financial operations.
- Obligate and track expenditures for educational programs, committing funds for program operations, including salaries/stipends and other operational costs.
- Responsible for cost distribution of stipend and operational funding between institutions.
- Design evaluations for programs and create programs to interpret results.
- Create advertisements for programs and monitor their publication.
- Represent the programs at local and national meetings.
- Coordinate, supervise, and administer operations of programs as applicable.
- Responsible for managing clerical/administrative operations and workflow for maximum efficiency and utilization of resources.
- Create, review, and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with university and accrediting agency standards to ensure compliance.
- Interpret policy for faculty, staff, residents, fellows, and students.
- Oversee the maintenance of records and documentation of activities of program participants.
- Prepare complex reports and surveys for university administration and/or accrediting agencies regarding statistical information on education programs within department or unit.
- Research, understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; implement as required.
- Process online forms for payroll, vacation/sick leave requests, malpractice insurance payments, supply ordering, and/or other operations needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 years of related experience
- 2 years at supervisory capacity
