About the Role
The Social Work Supervisor, Emergency Department oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of the Social Work team. This role provides leadership, staff supervision, scheduling, training, and clinical oversight for MSW interns and LSWs pursuing licensure. It also includes direct patient care such as psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and discharge planning. The supervisor collaborates with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to connect individuals with resources, strengthen support systems, and ensure safe and timely transitions of care from the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the Social Work team.
- Provide leadership, supervision, scheduling, and training for MSW interns and LSWs pursuing licensure.
- Deliver direct patient care, including psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to connect individuals with appropriate resources.
- Ensure safe and timely transitions of care from the Emergency Department.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-LCSW clinical experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with patients, families, interdisciplinary care teams, and community partners.
- Emergency Department and crisis intervention experience preferred.
- Ability to support patients and families in high-acuity and fast-paced healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and supervising clinical staff and/or interns.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in the State of New Jersey.
- Completion of two (2) years of post-MSW supervised clinical experience for LCSW licensure eligibility, per New Jersey requirements.

Pay
Salary Range: $83,000 - $98,000. The rate of pay for each position is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
