Responsibilities

  • Supports daily distribution demands in receiving, order processing, and/or shipping by assisting with resource allocation, workflow organization, and order prioritization.
  • Monitors workflow, space, and supply constraints. Offers suggestions and implements processes to ensure efficient flow of product through area(s) of responsibility.
  • Maintains accurate operational and inventory reports as required/requested by the management team.
  • Directs associates and their work activities to ensure optimum efficiency within the defined scope of operation.
  • Monitors associate performance daily and communicates information regarding goals, responsibilities, policies, procedures, and areas for improvement. Initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Maintains teams' work schedules, associate time-off requests, attendance and timekeeping records, and approves time for payroll processing for all associates within their scope of responsibility.
  • Ensures safety and housekeeping duties are followed in assigned areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma + minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or University degree.
  • Basic knowledge acquired through specific courses, self-study, relevant experience, or lengthy on-the-job training.
  • Analytical reasoning and problem-solving: Utilize information from several sources into familiar areas with some need for analysis. Problems are somewhat variable, but solutions are generally based on established practice.
  • Responsibility for planning and organizing: Involves organizing most aspects of own work according to pre-established deadlines and priorities. Must occasionally modify own work priorities. Limited planning is required.
  • Internal/External Communication: Providing explanations or answering questions requiring the interpretation of information.
  • Responsibility and impact of decisions: Limited freedom to make decisions. Decisions have a limited impact on other job functions. There is little or no consequence of decisions in relation to other work processes or functions within the organization.
  • Responsibility for staff guidance: Required to provide guidance to others or regularly train or act as a resource to employees.
  • Responsibility for supervision: Required to supervise 8 or more employees.
  • Responsibility for change management: Required to regularly adapt to frequent changes impacting own work.
  • Concentration and attention: The work requires occasional short periods of high concentration and attention, e.g., up to 25% of the time.
  • Working conditions: Significant exposure to one disagreeable condition; or occasional exposure to several disagreeable conditions or to one very disagreeable condition.
  • Physical requirements: Light physical effort such as standing or walking for long periods, lifting and carrying lightweight items, working in positions which cause some physical strain.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): May be asked or required to wear PPE to protect from hazards.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System preferred (e.g., WM Manhattan, PkMS, Oracle WM, SAP WM, RP).
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Experience within a manufacturing company supplying product to Retail Customers preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Vision is required to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics.
  • Hearing is required to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings.
