About the role

The Supervisor Composites Shop position at FlightSafety International is responsible for leading and managing departmental operations to ensure adherence to company goals, values, and safety protocols. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a combination of associate's degree and industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and assign department goals consistent with company objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing needs based on workload and company forecasts.
  • Manage department budget, monitor personnel and activities within budget, and propose adjustments.
  • Report department performance indicators and develop plans for improvement.
  • Develop department staff through training, education, and teamwork.
  • Complete performance evaluations and provide continuous coaching and feedback for department staff.
  • Develop a departmental succession plan to ensure consistent department operations.
  • Provide feedback to others regarding ways to improve productivity and lower costs.
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quality of equipment, and skills of employees.
  • Maintain communication between departments.
  • Reduce costs by eliminating waste in production area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree from college/tech school (2 yr)

Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience

  • Communicate with customers and other departments.
