Position Purpose

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, keen attention to detail, and be an effective communicator who is highly self-motivated. Knowledge of heavy equipment and experience in civil construction, particularly related to Dam Safety and Coal Combustion Materials is highly preferred. This position may require some flexibility to work essential extended hours and holidays in order to support TVA’s operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight, evaluation, and improvement of Civil Project operations
  • Manage the development, approval, and implementation of Civil Project related capital and O&M
  • Make decisions on the budgeting and prioritization of multiple activities for multiple sites to accomplish TVA corporate strategies
  • Provide technical expertise and management support for the TVA fossil plants, switchyards, and dams to implement corrective actions as needed to avoid impacts to personnel and equipment safety, plant operations, or environmental violations due to Civil Project operational issues
  • Supervise employees hired to manage specific Civil Projects capital and O&M

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a technical field of study; or equivalent training and / or experience in Civil Construction to include CCR or Dam rehabilitation projects
  • Good heavy equipment knowledge, and experience on civil projects and activities
  • Supervisory / leadership skills
  • Able to assume “on-call” rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability
  • Able to work required overtime during peak periods
  • Able to travel to CPG project locations as required when performing assigned tasks
