Responsibilities
- Acts as lead teacher and trainer in both the preschool and infant classrooms as an on-needed basis.
- Affords assistance in coordinating the daily operations of the Child Development Center.
- Enforces regulations under the Child Care Program guidelines.
- Implements and maintains an appropriate and safe learning environment for the children.
- Performs related work as required.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of 12 units in Early Child Development/Child Development including core courses and 3 administrative units. An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Child Development is preferred.
- Experience: 350 days of 3+ hours per day within 4 years teaching young children (equivalent to 1.5 years part-time), including at least 100 days of supervising adults (equivalent to 5 months). Teaching young children in a group setting is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of early childhood development and appropriate practices; knowledge of health and safety codes; ability to report suspected child abuse; communication skills; proficiency in standard office productivity applications.
- Skills: Ability to meet state regulations; enforce and apply Title 22 guidelines, rules, and regulations; read, understand, and interpret legal documents; analyze and resolve problems; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
Pay
Hourly pay rate: $26.94 to $29.76
Schedule
Seasonal schedule with varying hours based on availability and needs of the Child Development Center.
