Supervisor Central Lab

Responsibilities

• Provides adequate supervision within a defined shift.
• Provides technical expertise and guidance for the section; assists the Technical Director in the consolidation and standardization of laboratory testing.
• Acts as liaison for the Laboratory and Nursing & Medical staffs.
• Acts as the Quality Systems Manager for a specific site or area of responsibility, performing and documenting QA activities as defined by Laboratory Administrative and Medical Leadership.

Requirements

• Education: B.S. or B.A. degree
• NYS Licensure required: MT (ASCP) registered/eligible or equivalent
• Experience: Six (6) years of clinical laboratory work

• Demonstrated supervisory skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in stressful situations
• Ability to work with infectious and/or hazardous material
• Customer focused

Working Conditions

• Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment
• Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
