Responsibilities
- Affirms competency of department staff and serves as a liaison to facility staff.
- Functions as a resource and role model for unit practice, develops and maintains collaborative relationships, and channels communication with members of multi-disciplinary care teams.
- Helps in the development and delivery of process improvement strategies, and assists in promoting teamwork and safe, timely discharge planning.
- Focuses on developing department staff competency, technical skills, clinical decision-making, and professional practice for staff.
- Collaborates with medical staff department liaisons to develop quality improvement approaches and strategies to enhance delivery and utilization of health services.
- In addition to supporting daily operations, promotes staff education through in-person, one-on-one education, and plans routine staff meetings to maintain department proficiency.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate responsibilities, make sound judgments, and accurately assess when to refer issues to manager.
Qualifications
- Equivalent experience: Required
- Education: Bachelors Degree
- Comments: Social Work or Nursing degree preferred.
