Supervisor, Cage-Ex

About the role

The Cage Supervisor oversees the cage team members and supports the Cage Manager and operations. Key responsibilities include adhering to policies, training and assigning tasks to staff, providing exceptional customer service, and managing cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to administrative policies and safety rules.
• Direct, train, monitor, and assign tasks to cage personnel.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers.
• Work odd or unusual hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Exercise strong motivational commitment and communicate professionally.
• Ensure proper customer transactions by verifying large amounts of money exchanges and conversions, counting, verifying, and signing for banks assigned.
• Maintain accurate records and operate computer/equipment.
• Perform cage cashier duties as necessary or assigned.
• Exercise basic knowledge in management, human resources, and budgeting.
• Maintain knowledge of all paper flow with all departments.
• Maintain knowledge of all ATM and Kiosk drops.
• Absorb and count drops, and manage Mutuels to ensure adherence to departmental procedures.
• Maintain strong knowledge with money handling, counting, and complex mathematical skills.
• Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions.
• Be a team player and assist coworkers.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, and provide accurate directions and information for guest inquiries.
• Work under pressure and maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED Certification preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in demonstrating supervisory abilities involving cash handling.
• Relevant work experience in cash handling or cage cashier capacity.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license through the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC).
