Supervisor, Behavioral Health Services
About the role
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a full-time Supervisor-SUR to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health and substance use services in community settings. The role ensures that services meet clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and provide trauma-informed, culturally competent care.
Responsibilities
- Directs daily operations of behavior health staff including counselors, case managers, and peer support specialists.
- Provides supervision, coaching, and assists in performance evaluations to ensure quality care.
- Facilitates team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Develops and monitors program objectives, service goals, and outcome measurements.
- Collaborates with partnering agencies, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to optimize service integration.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, including documentation standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven counseling services experience and assessment skills.
- LSW or LCSW certification preferred.
- Background check clearance required.
- Annual TB test.
- Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and review.
- Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative community partnerships.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license in good standing for the state of residency and proof of insurance.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with EHR systems.
- Knowledge of accreditation and licensure standards.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
