About the role

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a full-time Supervisor-SUR to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health and substance use services in community settings. The role ensures that services meet clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and provide trauma-informed, culturally competent care.

Responsibilities

  • Directs daily operations of behavior health staff including counselors, case managers, and peer support specialists.
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and assists in performance evaluations to ensure quality care.
  • Facilitates team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develops and monitors program objectives, service goals, and outcome measurements.
  • Collaborates with partnering agencies, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to optimize service integration.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, including documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven counseling services experience and assessment skills.
  • LSW or LCSW certification preferred.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Annual TB test.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and review.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative community partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing for the state of residency and proof of insurance.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and licensure standards.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
