SUPERVISOR, AUDIT (DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE) ACTIVELY RECRUITED
About the role
This position reports to the Deputy Director, Compliance and provides day-to-day work direction to maintain steady workflow and productivity in auditing operations and practices. The role plans, directs, and reviews the work activities of staff conducting audits for the Department/Bureau.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and review the work activities of staff conducting audits for the Department/Bureau.
- Aid in the development of audit procedures, forms, and correspondences and respond back to internal and external inquires.
- Conduct regular team meetings, provide job trainings, and deliver continuous performance feedback.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
- Four (4) years of tax auditing or directly related experience is required.
- Two (2) years of prior supervisory or lead experience is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in home rule tax auditing is preferred.

Pay
$109,309 - $120,675 yearly. This position may be eligible for a signing bonus.
Schedule
The County has a hybrid work environment which allows employees telecommuting and flexible scheduling options.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher AND Four (4) years of tax auditing or directly related experience AND Two (2) years of prior supervisory or lead experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in home rule tax auditing.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of auditing and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Ability to recognize and determine violations of various State and Local laws.
- Ability to supervise, review, and direct the work activities of auditing staff and objectively evaluate employee appraisals.
- Ability to interpret various types of records and documents and apply provisions of laws to highly complex or unusual cases.
- Ability to direct the analytical review process and maintain confidentiality regarding audits and personnel matters.
- Ability to enable a collaborative and teaming culture and provide day to day direction of tasks.
- Ability to perform escalated or more highly complex work similar to the work done by staff being supervised.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks to staff and collaborate with leadership to achieve organizational or department success.
- Ability to align team's tasks with departmental procedures and objectives and serve as a reliable resource for other employees in an area of expertise.
