About the role
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently executing jobs at specific industrial, chemical or environmental job sites. This role may also be responsible for the full life cycle of jobs including planning, organizing and coordinating equipment and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Understand, commit and drive MPW’s safety program to ensure employee understanding, safety and compliance.
- Completion and compliance of Safety Observation
- Conducting Safety Meetings and completing JSAs before beginning a job
- Effectively communicate to create and enhance long-lasting positive customer relations by conveying information between the customer, workforce and MPW Management team.
- Communicating daily with customer, Operations and Logistics
- Completing and reviewing work orders with the customer, and forwarding to administrative team daily
- Exhibit Technical Expertise in Industrial Cleaning and be able to serve in any operational role as needed.
- Evaluating consistently changing workforce
- Continuously training workforce to improve safety and performance
- Coaching in a positive and effective manner
- Exhibiting emotional intelligence when leading others
- Commitment to MPW business model and employees.
- Ability to adapt to rapid response business model, ever-evolving business needs, and incredibly demanding customer requests in a service industry that operates 24/7, 365.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Plan and orchestrate work flow at customer’s sites often times working under time pressures, hence must be good at scheduling and balancing work loads.
- May be required to perform a variety of duties and shoulder a multiple of responsibilities to achieve positive results.
- Has the ability to improvise to get jobs completed while maintaining safety, cost effectiveness, and high quality.
- May be called in at various hours and days of the week 24/7, due to the emergency response nature of the business.
- Requires several long and non-traditional hours as a regular part of this position.
- Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with the scope of responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Industrial Systems Technology is a plus.
- A high school specialization in a specific trade or vocational program is ideal.
- A high school education or equivalent is acceptable.
- A valid drivers license.
- CDL License a plus.
- Specific systems exposure in an industrial environment acceptable.
- Specific exposure in maintenance systems including Power Generation Processors, Steel Mills, Pulp and Paper Mills and a variety of manufacturing facilities is a plus.
- Understanding of mechanical concepts and applications.
- Effective oral and written communications.
- Effective listening skills.
- Ability to interact with others.
- 12-23 years of “hands on” experience in equipment maintenance in environments listed above preferred.
- 2-3 years of “hands on” experience in industrial cleaning or related area such as construction acceptable.
