About the role
The Production Supervisor leads a team of skilled manufacturing employees, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork. Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and supporting production employees, communicating work assignments, reviewing schedules, inspecting products, enforcing policies, identifying improvements, and motivating employees.
Responsibilities
- Leading, coaching, and supporting production employees throughout the shift.
- Communicating work assignments, production priorities, and expectations through both written and verbal instruction.
- Reviewing production schedules and estimating labor requirements to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and job orders while helping your team understand the work ahead.
- Assigning work, adjusting priorities, and keeping production moving efficiently.
- Inspecting products throughout production to verify quality standards and directing machine setup or adjustments when necessary.
- Enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety expectations while creating a culture where people look out for one another.
- Identifying opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, workflow, and product quality.
- Helping employees solve day-to-day production challenges and removing obstacles that impact performance.
- Recommending improvements to equipment usage, working conditions, and manufacturing processes to increase efficiency.
- Motivating employees to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
- Maintaining accurate production records, labor records, and material requirements.
- Cooking with other supervisors and departments to keep work flowing throughout the facility.
- Training, developing, evaluating, and recognizing employees while helping them continue to grow.
- Addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts professionally, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Jumping in to perform production work whenever the team needs an extra set of hands.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and production documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand manufacturing processes.
- A commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- A reliable attendance and a professional, team-first attitude.
