Supervisor

About the Role

Responsible for the day-to-day activities of a specific shift operation, including managing an employee group, maintenance and accuracy of timekeeping, workload distribution, proper use of company and client vehicles and equipment, and reporting discrepancies to the Account Manager or General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary.
• Familiarize yourself with all pertinent regulations (Company/Client/Government Agencies).
• Schedule personnel daily and provide a copy to the Account Manager.
• Obtain written approval for necessary overtime in advance.
• Monitor employee activity and make adjustments as needed.
• Ensure employees follow all regulations and procedures.
• Verify check-in/out sheets to ensure accurate time logging.
• Deal fairly, courteously, and tactfully with employees while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with employees and client representatives.
• Make recommendations to the Account Manager regarding personnel performance.
• Report safety hazards and equipment problems to the Account Manager or General Manager.
• Report inquiries and incidents to Account Managers; emergency situations must be reported immediately.
• Respond to inquiries from leads, employees, clients, and passengers in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
• Keep leads informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of the work area, and report maintenance needs.
• Project a positive image and respond courteously to clients, staff, and the public.
• Provide clear, concise direction to leads, coordinators, warehouse staff, and crews, including both positive and corrective feedback.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records, training files, reports, and other documentation as required.
• Use company-provided training materials to develop a safe, well-trained staff and maintain a safe working environment.
• Wear proper business attire as directed by company officials and ensure identification badges are always visible.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achieving company objectives.
• Use company and client equipment, supplies, and resources conscientiously and cost-effectively.
• Perform quality assurance service audits to conform to client specifications and procedures.
• Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Implement the safety plan for the station.
• Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing corrective and preventative actions where necessary.
• Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some supervisory/management experience in a shift work environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a reliable telephone and transportation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Tact to handle various situations involving client representatives, employees, and the public.
• Ability to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout the shift.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Must complete a criminal background check.
• Must be able to read, understand, direct, and carry out instructions in English.
• Must meet requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or possess necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
• Ability to resolve problem situations with employees and passengers when necessary.

Pay

$20.00 per hour (varies depending on airport location).
