Supervisor

The Supervisor at The Dune Company of Salinas oversees daily operations of the facility's yard, warehouse, and custom application services with a focus on safety, efficiency, and inventory accuracy. This role manages, trains, and supports warehouse personnel and drivers while coordinating with operations, logistics, and sales teams to meet service and scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring equipment, vehicles, and supplies are organized, well-maintained, and ready for deployment.
• Maintain an efficient layout for easy accessibility and orderly storage of equipment and supplies.
• Supervise and train yard personnel to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Manage loading and unloading of goods to ensure smooth product flow in and out of the facility.
• Perform daily and monthly inventory counts, maintaining accurate records for all products.
• Manage inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicals to ensure adequate stock levels for operational needs.
• Provide leadership to warehouse staff and drivers, including training on transportation rules and safety regulations.
• Create work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion according to company standards.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and conduct safety inspections of forklifts, loaders, tenders, and trailers.
• Oversee maintenance of tenders, ball tanks, and wheel tanks.
• Complete hazardous material shipping papers, purchase orders, and other documentation for materials entering or exiting the facility.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, sales, and customer service teams to meet client needs and ensure timely dispatch and delivery of services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in yard management, equipment maintenance, or a related role within the agricultural or custom application industry.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a supervisory role.
• Experience working with agricultural equipment, vehicles, and custom application machinery is highly desirable.
• Valid commercial Class B driver’s license with a good driving record (Class A preferred).
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Windows applications.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs.).
• Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends during peak seasons or periods of high demand.
