About the Role
Supervisors, Airport Operations oversee daily operations at assigned airports, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and strong service provider relationships. They serve as trainers and auditors, mentoring station managers and crewmembers while maintaining regulatory and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations at assigned airport locations to drive operational excellence.
- Report on daily operational performance metrics.
- Conduct on-site audits and station visits.
- Serve as the liaison to service providers and airport partners.
- Ensure service providers maintain standards outlined in Service Level Agreements (SLA) and contracted scope of work.
- Mentor and guide station managers.
- Communicate company updates to airports, including flight schedules, standards changes, procedures changes, and safety briefings.
- Provide initial, recurrent, and ongoing training to crewmembers and managers, including new hire orientation, customer service training, ramp training, and management concepts training.
- Evaluate and measure training effectiveness and maintain accurate training records for all airport operations crewmembers.
- Perform regulatory and operational compliance audits to ensure conformity with Avelo Airlines, FAA, TSA, DOD, DOT, and other governmental agency regulations.
- Inspect contractor activities such as GSE repairs, deicing services, and fueling services.
Performance Measures
- Assigned spoke airports maintain performance per company metrics.
- Assigned spoke airports are current on all training and auditing.
- Assigned spoke airports successfully pass FAA, TSA, DOD, and DOT audits.
Decision-Making Authority
- Approver: Customer service exceptions, local operations standards and procedures, training plans, station project planning, need for additional training or continued oversight, and compliance with federal or company policy and service level agreements.
- Decision Participant: Changes to airport operations standards and procedures, safety and security reviews, and service provider review and selection.

Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. for a distance of 10 feet.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather.
- Must be able to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel to assigned airports—up to 75% away from base.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Three years of experience in airport operations preferred.
