About the Role
The Supervisor is responsible for one or more areas of distribution, implementing all policies and procedures, mentoring and developing staff, and ensuring compliance with all operational standards. This position contributes to continuous improvement projects and supports team efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team to manage day-to-day operations and activities of assigned facilities and programs efficiently.
- Solicit feedback from Team Leads and Associate Supervisors regarding performance and take corrective action as needed.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, promoting, and terminating processes; ensure appropriate staffing levels with the manager.
- Set schedules according to workload and serve as a backup in the absence of the Manager.
- Foster high morale among associates through feedback, recognition, and rewards.
- Conduct or delegate shift start-up meetings, communicating culture, safety, production, accuracy, and facility/HR updates.
- Lead the performance review process and enter ratings in Workday.
- Provide timely communication to ensure appropriate dissemination of information to team leads and associates.
- Create overall shift schedules and serve as a backup for the Manager; act as the final payroll approver in Kronos.
- Identify measures to improve warehouse processes without additional financial burden.
- Develop employees to meet warehouse standards and regulations; identify and grow future team leaders.
- Provide formal and informal feedback on an ongoing basis; lead the annual performance evaluation process.
- Recommend employee corrective actions, including termination.
- Establish operational strategy to achieve consistent area goals.
- Maintain and enforce a clean and safe working environment.
- Drive safety and culture, holding team members accountable for compliance with safety protocols.
