About the role
Improves Maintenance Team productivity and quality through hands-on supervisory direction of Maintenance Technicians. Works with the Maintenance Manager to collaborate with the MRO (Parts and Supply) team for repairs and replacements of Plant assets, including Facility systems, equipment, and production equipment. This person is reliability-minded in the commissioning, maintaining, and repairing of Plant assets, helps drive Best Practices maintenance approaches, and is familiar with or has been exposed to continuous improvement, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis programs and policies. Promotes strong team cohesiveness and a collaborative mindset within and outside the department, and helps build and apply Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques and processes. This is a working Supervisor position, requiring both oversight of the team and hands-on maintenance and repair work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
- Provide emergency repairs on production equipment to keep lines operational.
- Direct and assist with all repairs, including the ammonia system.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment, including replacement of failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, power/control lines, etc.
- Diagnose problems and failures, and repair or replace parts as required.
- Coach and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with the team on repeating issues.
- Coach and assess team skills, ensuring all training is completed on time.
- Work daily with CMMS (L2L) and the planner to ensure Work Orders are completed as scheduled.
- Dismantle/disassemble defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts using specifications, blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
- Collaborate with production line workers and supervisors with a strong customer service mindset and proper radio etiquette.
- Adjust various types of devices and control systems, including VFDs, programs, and HMIs.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 480V and below, and control voltage/systems.
- Understand facilities, systems, and component functions and relationships, and competently troubleshoot and repair them.
- Establish and ensure that safety policies and procedures are always followed.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity, or equivalent.
- One or more years of related experience and/or training in supervisory roles.
- Food or medical plant experience preferred, as well as knowledge of and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food manufacturing best practices.
- Basic hydraulics/pneumatics and ammonia/refrigeration experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures in English. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Mandatory ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency with computers and standard industry programs, with the ability to learn and use new software effectively.

Schedule
2-2-3 Schedule / 12-hour shifts. Able to work extended schedules including weekends and overtime as needed.
