About the role

Under the general direction of the Workers' Compensation Compliance Manager within the Medical Unit of the Division of Workers' Compensation, the Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant incumbent will monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current statutes and regulations and effective deliver of benefits for injured workers.

Working Conditions

The position is located at 1515 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94612. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting in an air conditioned, high rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Telework, when appropriate, may be approved at the discretion of the Workers' Compensation Compliance Manager.

Department Information

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers. DIR also publishes materials and holds workshops and seminars to promote healthy employment relations, conducts research to improve its programs, and coordinates with other agencies to target egregious violators of labor laws and tax laws in the underground economy.

Pay

  • $7,100.00 - $8,819.00
  • New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
