SUPERVISING TRANSPORTATION PLANNER
About the role
The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing the Department’s Strategic Investment Planning Program. This includes directing, managing, and overseeing the development and execution of strategies related to performance-based transportation planning and program investments.
Responsibilities
Directs, manages, and oversees the development and implementation of tools necessary to formulate programming recommendations for executive management and others, specifically as it relates to connecting Transportation Planning documents and prioritized project lists to potential funding sources.
Advances policies, strategies, and tools to provide transformative, multi-modal recommendations that promote travel options and enrich all communities.
Requirements
- Experience: Five years of responsible experience conducting difficult and complex transportation planning or research projects. One year must have been comparable in level of responsibility to work performed by a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service.
- Education: Equivalent to graduation from college.
Qualifications
One year of experience in the California state service performing transportation planning or transportation management duties in a class comparable in level of responsibility to Senior Transportation Planner.
Skills
Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with other agencies and interest groups.
