Duties

  • Provide direct supervision to psychiatric social workers working with mentally or developmentally disabled persons in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Conduct evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning for patients.
  • Ensure compliance with MHSDS Departmental and licensure standards in the provision of mental health services.
  • Report to the Correctional Health Services Administrator II and the Standards Compliance Coordinator regarding all social work issues pertinent to Title 22 or other licensure requirements.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Psychiatric Social Worker in the State of California.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a correctional setting.
  • Experience in providing direct supervision to social workers.
  • Knowledge of MHSDS Departmental and licensure standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • One-time recruitment and retention stipend of up to $10,000.
  • Monthly recruitment and retention differential totaling $20,000 during the first year with CCHCS.
  • $5,000 referral bonus if selected for hire and remains employed with CCHCS for 90 days.

Pay

Salaries do not reflect the recent changes due to the implementation of PLP 2025. Base salaries were reduced by 3% effective July 1, 2025.
