Supervising Pharmacist

About the Role

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department, including training and development of subordinate staff, personnel needs assessment, work assignment, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Relies on experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice to provide the highest quality healthcare service to customers and for the overall management of the Pharmacy Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice for dispensing prescriptions and counseling patients.
• Perform all quality assurance steps to ensure technically accurate prescription dispensing.
• Report dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
• Adhere to all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
• Oversee and manage the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
• Manage and balance pharmacy inventory to maximize turns while ensuring stock availability for customer needs.
• Oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers.
• Check pharmacy inventory for outdates and process all returns.
• Maintain prescription files and other manual records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Ensure in-store pharmacy technology is used to its fullest potential for maximum return on investment and lifespan.
• Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
• Enforce all Loss Prevention policies and report deviations.
• Assist in the implementation of corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
• Maintain the pharmacy department to provide a clean, professional environment that protects customer and employee safety.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
• Stay aware of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields and integrate them into practice.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
• Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Assist in developing an annual pharmacy department operating budget and operate within budgetary guidelines.
• Interact with the Store Manager to complete hiring practices, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions for pharmacy staff.
• Assign duties and assist in scheduling Pharmacy staff to meet payroll and productivity budget guidelines.
• Train and develop all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
• Communicate corporate goals to all pharmacy department personnel.
• Attend and actively participate in all required Kinney training and management programs.
• Interface with various auditors and outside agencies as needed.
• Ensure store compliance with all state and federal regulations and requirements.
• Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy.
• Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
• Ability to stand/walk throughout the majority of a shift.
• Certified immunizer.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacist.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Drug test.
• Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring.
• Any and all additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position.

Pay

$108,160.00 - $143,794.00 per year. The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience, and education.
