Supervising Mechanical Engineer II

Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare, and Project Management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations.
- Act as “Engineer of Record” on dedicated projects.
- Assist Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in business-unit technical training and staff mentoring.
- Coordinate and assign various projects to the engineering team (e.g., system design and project engineering).
- Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
- Lead and supervise staff members as they perform their tasks.
- Manage Construction Administrative duties (field reports, RFI responses, Bulletins, Addenda, etc.).
- Coordinate with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices.
- Monitor project accounts receivable and contact clients to expedite payment.
- Monitor all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, and owners.
- Participate in and contribute to the firm-wide Expert Teams committee.
- Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including add-service agreements.
- Supervise and lead coordination meetings.
- Supervise the preparation of analysis and reports of system options and building conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- 12+ years’ experience in a consulting firm, with a background in the MEP Engineering industry.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience.
- Current PE registration (required).
- Healthcare design experience (required).
- Experience with Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation projects (a plus).

Pay
Syska-wide pay range for this role: $115,448—$170,173 USD. Actual pay will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, skillsets, and competencies and may vary based on location.
Schedule
Flexible hybrid schedule: Monday–Thursday in-office for 9 hours, Friday remote for 4 hours.
