About the role
The Supervising Immigration Advocate will oversee the Affirmative Services program, provide direct representation to clients, supervise team members, and stay updated on immigration laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct legal representation to clients in complex immigration cases
- Supervise and review the work of accredited representatives and other team members
- Assign work and provide guidance on legal matters
- Develop procedures and provide legal orientation and education
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Participate in program audits and grant reporting
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law as a fully DOJ Accredited Representative
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisor role
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive off-site as required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong case management, legal research, and legal writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work under pressure
- Physical requirements: occasional evening and weekend work, travel, lifting up to 25 pounds
Qualifications
- Speaking another language such as Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Portuguese, Haitian Creole or French is a plus but not required
- Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds
Skills
- Strong case management, legal research, and legal writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work under pressure
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
- Passion for social justice for immigrants
- Experience working with marginalized populations and survivors of trauma
- Dedication to serving immigrant communities
- Willingness to cover other staff as needed
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, and Zoom

Pay
$72,000 - $85,000/year, with additional benefits including comprehensive healthcare coverage, employer 401(k) contributions, and life insurance.
Schedule
Full-time (37.5+ hours/week), Exempt.
