Supervising Dentist
Job Description
Provides supervision to student dental hygienists during client care in the Dental Hygiene Clinic. Assesses dental health status of dental clients. Performs medical/dental assessment of dental hygiene clients. Authorizes dental hygiene students to treat clients. Properly manages any dental or medical emergencies. Interprets radiographs and conducts radiographic and pharmacological consultation with students. Authorizes dental sealants, places temporary restorations, checks emergency equipment, and consults with clinical coordinator when appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- DMD (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry) or DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) Ohio license to practice dentistry
- Minimum of five years of professional demonstrated related experience
- Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
- Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

- Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to travel to all clinical affiliates

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated; Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to clinical affiliates and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
Set-Rate Non-Bargaining Part-Time Position
This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $60.00/hour.

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1.
