SUPERVISING CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR I, EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
About the role
The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking a Supervising Criminal Investigator I to join the Investigation Division. This position is part of the Labor Data and Compliance Branch and is responsible for investigating allegations and suspected violations of the California Unemployment Insurance Code and other laws.
Responsibilities
- Conducts, plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees investigations as directed by the Manager/SCI II.
- Supervises seven (7) Criminal Investigators.
- Final reviewing authority of investigative work.
- Performs, plans, supervises, and directs the performance of subordinate staff in field investigations.
- Detects or verifies suspected violations of laws, rules, or regulations.
- Conducts difficult and complex investigations.
- Performs program or policy development and interpretation duties which specifically require investigator or law enforcement expertise.
- Supports the Manager by keeping them informed of potential problems and matters affecting the scope of the unit.
Requirements
- Passing a background investigation, medical, and psychological examination.
- Valid California Drivers License (CDL).
Qualifications
This position requires a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
The position requires a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired. The position requires Psychological Evaluation clearance prior to being hired.
