Superintendent – Special Projects (Healthcare)

About the role

An established commercial construction company is seeking an experienced estimator to join its dynamic team in Seattle, Washington. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for commercial scopes such as building systems, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and other related areas.
• Review drawings, specifications, subcontractor proposals, and bid documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Establish estimating standards, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff while fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Work closely with operations and preconstruction teams to ensure smooth project transitions.
• Participate in client meetings and support business development efforts when needed.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Help shape the future direction of the preconstruction department.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong background estimating building systems, MEP, and other related areas.
• Previous experience leading or managing estimating teams.
• Experience with commercial construction projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
