About the role
Holland Construction Services is seeking a Field Superintendent to manage projects in a timely, profitable, and professional manner. Key responsibilities include overseeing productivity, ensuring safety, managing subcontractors, and maintaining positive client relations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct business ethically and promote safety
- Establish labor requirements, coordinate drug testing, and manage employees
- Select, direct, and schedule subcontractors, and coordinate job progress reviews
- Create and update project schedules, monitor progress, and communicate with stakeholders
- Cost code and submit Field Purchase Orders, sign delivery tickets, and maintain project documentation
- Set up and maintain an efficient field office, and determine equipment needs
- Document delays, problems, and schedule/cost comments, and assist with shop drawings and submittals
- Record tool movements and inform the office of new tools purchased
- Use instruments such as transits and levels for site and building layout, or request assistance from an engineer
- Work evenings and weekends as necessary
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of progressive experience including carpentry and supervision, preferably for a commercial general contractor
- High school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Training in 10-hour OSHA, 30-hour OSHA, and up-to-date first-aid and CPR
- Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Planning and coordinating task/project schedules
- Building layout and control skills
- Interpret instructions in various forms
- Solve routine coordination problems

- Must be able to use instruments such as transits and levels for site and building layout or request help as needed from an engineer
