Responsibilities

  • Coverage and supervision of Power construction projects from start to finish.
  • Advocate for safety as the top priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plans and policies and all safety-related regulations.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Division Management, and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of construction projects, including direct liaison with owner, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job.
  • Develop and implement production plans with budget goals in mind.
  • Aid Project Manager in preparing project status reports.
  • Prepare or oversee submission of payroll to Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and procedures.
  • Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce with assistance from HR and Legal.
  • Work with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issues.
  • Ensure adherence to construction schedules by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurement.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms.
  • Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee regulatory inspections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction supervisory role in heavy civil construction environment.
  • Proven experience in overseeing and managing the construction of power distribution systems.
  • Experience in all aspects of civil construction management including earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and concrete structures.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing, and the ability to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities.
  • Basic math skills and basic computer skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Significant portion of day outside on construction site.
  • Stand for long periods and work at heights.
  • Work in all types of weather (including exposure to extremes of hot and cold) and in all kinds of work environments.
  • Lift/move up to 70 pounds.
  • Stand, crawl, climb ladders & stairs, balance, stoop and kneel (physical activities associated with construction sites).
  • Withstand for long periods of time noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc. associated with construction sites.
  • Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Valid driver’s license.
