Responsibilities
- Coverage and supervision of Power construction projects from start to finish.
- Advocates safety as the top priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plans and policies, as well as all safety-related regulations.
- Collaborates with Estimating, Division Management, and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate the management of construction projects, including direct liaison with the owner, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job.
- Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind.
- Aids the Project Manager in preparing project status reports.
- Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports, and logs.
- Oversees the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and coordinates shop drawings.
- Acquires tools and materials necessary for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule.
- Determines staffing levels and timing based on building methodology and the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction project.
- Recruits, hires, and directs the work of all company onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and procedures.
- Prepares or oversees the submission of payroll to the Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and procedures.
- Communicates with supervisory personnel and employees (with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal) to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Works with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issues.
- Ensures construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurement.
- Supervises and coordinates subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms.
- Follows and enforces company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and oversees regulatory inspections.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction supervisory role in heavy civil construction environment.
- Proven experience in overseeing and managing the construction of power distribution systems.
- Experience in all aspects of civil construction management including earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and concrete structures.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities.

Physical Requirements
- Significant portion of day outside on construction site.
- Able to stand for long periods.
- Able to work at heights.

- Able to lift/move up to 70 pounds.
- Able to stand, crawl, climb ladders & stairs, balance, stoop and kneel (physical activities associated with construction sites).
- Able to withstand for long periods of time noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc. associated with construction sites.
- Able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Valid driver’s license.
