About the role

As part of Charah Solutions—the leading provider of environmental services and byproduct sales to the power generation industry—you will manage a construction crew, equipment, and materials on large and/or complex projects in accordance with construction designs, plans, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute construction information to strategic plans and reviews; drive production, ensure quality, and uphold customer-service standards; resolve problems; identify improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing Charah safety standards and procedures; comply with and enforce OSHA, MSHA, and DOT codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, permits, and layouts.
  • Adhere to project budget specifications, schedules, and production demands.
  • Accomplish construction human resource objectives by selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicate job expectations; plan, execute, monitor, control, and appraise job contributions; recommend compensation actions; adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Assist with managing sub-contractors; evaluate and monitor their performance.
  • Operate heavy equipment to train and evaluate crew performance.
  • Act independently to originate new procedures and approaches to problems.
  • Maintain initiative to ensure the flow of work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a Construction Foreman or Superintendent role.
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Project Management Certification or equivalent may be required based on project scope.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend, and walk/stand/sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to loud noises and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Work in both internal and external environments.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as a team leader.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
  • Act independently and originate new procedures and approaches to problems.
