Responsibilities
- Oversight of all on-site construction activities from initial mobilization through project closeout.
- Management of subcontractors, field crews, vendors, and site logistics to keep work progressing efficiently and safely.
- Serving as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, permits, and scope documents to guide field execution.
- Planning and managing daily work activities and short-term schedules, including 4-week look-ahead schedules in Excel.
- Enforcement of quality control standards and ensuring all work meets design intent, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance of daily field reports, progress documentation, and accurate site records using construction reporting tools.
- Enforcement of jobsite safety programs and ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordination of required inspections, testing, and project closeout activities with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Identification of field issues early, troubleshooting construction challenges, and collaboration with Project Management to resolve them efficiently.
- Utilization of Procore, Microsoft Project, and other project management tools to track schedule, progress, and documentation.
- Support of renovation and addition projects, including K–12, higher education, healthcare, and commercial or corporate facilities.
- Management of mechanical and infrastructure-related scopes of work as part of overall project delivery.
- Travel to and oversight of multiple project sites within the region, acting as a stand-alone Superintendent with office-based PE and PM support.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in an equivalent field leadership role, including commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience managing renovation and addition projects of approximately $10 million or more.
- Background in commercial, industrial, environmental, or infrastructure-related construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- OSHA 30 Certification and strong commitment to jobsite safety.
- Proficiency with construction reporting and project documentation tools.
- Experience with Procore for project management and field documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling and project planning.
- Experience with 4-week look-ahead schedules in Excel.
- Mechanical project background and familiarity with mechanical scopes in construction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct field crews and subcontractors effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, inspectors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, documentation, and schedules.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience delivering renovation projects in K–12, higher education, healthcare, commercial, or corporate environments.
- Comfort working on projects generally ranging from $1–4 million with shorter durations of 2–4 months.
- Experience coordinating inspections, testing, and closeout documentation for commercial construction projects.
- Familiarity with educational project environments and related stakeholder coordination.

Work Environment
- This role is primarily field-based on active project sites across Connecticut, with projects typically ranging from $1–4 million and durations of approximately 2–4 months.
- The Superintendent operates as a stand-alone on-site leader with strong support from office-based Project Engineers and Project Managers.
- Travel between multiple sites within the state is required, with projects spanning from the northern areas to coastal cities.
- The work environment involves daily coordination with subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams, use of tools such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Excel, and consistent adherence to safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Pay And Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $67.00/hr.
