Nature of Work
Responsible for supervising the field construction of a project including its organization, planning and scheduling in order to complete the work on time and within budget.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise the field construction of a project including its organization, planning, and scheduling in order to complete the work on time and within budget.
- Review all contracts, drawings, & specifications to develop on-site plans & procedures for implementation.
- Interface with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, inspectors, etc.
- Establish budget, forecast labor projections, and manage labor tracking throughout duration of project.
- Responsible for overall site safety.
- May be responsible for conducting safety meetings.
- Participate assessment and hiring of construction personnel.
- Cookordinate, supervise and train all direct reports to achieve project objectives.
- Works alongside Operations team for the development, implementation, and enforcement of the companywide Quality Control (QC) Program.
- Cookordinate, direct, and monitor activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and company labor.
- Ensure all necessary permits and other temporary facilities are in place before construction begins.
- Manage, train, and provide support to the team to achieve project objectives.
- Communicate and support goals to motivate team performance and productivity in alignment with the corporate strategic plan and individual development.
- Lead effective team meetings and recognize individual and team accomplishments.
- Review scheduling and work assignments to assist the team with effective resource management.
- Assist with interviewing prospective employees and provide input regarding the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities to do the job.
- Conduct performance evaluations for assigned team.
- Review and approve direct reports’ timecards, time off requests, and expenses.
- Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
- Document all violations, notify project management and safety officer, and recommend/implement corrective actions, as required.
- Promote the company safety culture and safety awareness throughout the company, projects, or office.
- Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
- Experience in Pro-Core, BIM360Field, Stratus, and Navisworks preferred.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to understand and implement best practice standards.
- Ability to use initiative and resourcefulness in deviating from traditional methods, criteria, or procedures.
- Ability to use constructive thinking based on theoretical disciplines or body of knowledge and practice to analyze, interpret, and evaluate problem situations conflicts or operations problems.

Education
- Completion of 5-year apprentice program.
- Experience 10+ years of related work experience in the construction industry required.
- 5 years or more in the HVAC, pipefitting, and/or plumbing industries preferred.
- Other technical experience such as military, public service, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- May require periods of overnight travel.
- Standard project site environment that may include machinery, parts, and chemicals.
- May require protective gear.
- Significant periods of time walking on construction sites.
- Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Significant climbing and balancing.
- Significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Significant fine finger dexterity.
- Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 30% walking, and 55% standing.
- This position will be required to use a ladder and work at tall heights (i.e., roof top, access ladders, scissor-lift, scaffolding).
- Occasional activity: sitting, viewing, and typing on computer screen.
- Safety-sensitive position that requires extreme focus and attention to safety hazards and safety protocols.
